Recently STI Group attended the 4th annual DUG Eagle Ford Conference and Exhibition. It was held in San Antonio at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center from Tuesday, September 17th through Thursday, September 19th. The theme of the event was “Tracking Eagle Ford Development – A Liquids Behemoth” and it featured Robert J. O’Neill of SEAL Team Six as the keynote luncheon speaker. The DUG Eagle Ford Conference is a 2013 TSNN Winner, which tracks the top 25 fastest-growing trade shows. STI Group was both an attendant of this event as well as a featured sponsor. Needless to say, it was a very enriching experience and we wanted to share some more information about the world’s largest shale event.

What Is the DUG Eagle Ford Conference?

The DUG brand was launched in 2006 by Hart Energy as a series of conferences designed to focus on the challenges and opportunities present in the industry as they related to identifying and developing unconventional resources. “DUG” is actually an acronym for “Developing Unconventional Gas.”

Crude oil is being discovered in unconventional formations and unconventional drilling techniques are often required to recover it. Thus, the DUG brand has evolved in meaning and purpose to cover “unconventionals” in the broadest sense, including both oil and gas.

Each DUG conference is different because each one is focused on the most timely and important issues currently being experienced in the unconventional resources development sector. This year’s event focused on the capital spending trends, technological breakthroughs, well results, and market options that are currently centered around the Eagle Ford Shale. More than 4,000 high ranking executives from companies in the upstream and midstream sector engaged with this important dialogue . The DUG event also featured a variety of extremely knowledgeable experts and leaders in the industry who spoke on their insights relating to exploration, drilling, production, financial forecasts, and more.

Which Companies Attended the Conference?
