Position Summary
STI Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Civil Construction Estimator
to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to
build a career in heavy civil and industrial construction. The estimator will support the
preconstruction team by assisting in cost estimation, bid preparation, and project analysis for a
variety of civil and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects
Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
Support bid preparation and proposal development
Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, and bid documents
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior estimators
Participate in post-bid reviews and project handoff processes
Stay current with market pricing, labor rates, and industry trends
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
(required)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or co-op experience in construction, estimating, or project engineering
Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Sage, Bluebeam, P6, Project, or similar)
Basic understanding of civil construction methods and materials
Work Environment
