Job Overview:
STI Group is seeking experienced, full-time Civil Industrial Carpenters and Concrete Finishers for projects in the Wallops Island, VA area. Successful candidates will possess proficiency in interpreting blueprints, structural plans, and sketches. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in carpentry, concrete finishing, and framing. You will be responsible for preparing layouts, shaping materials, fabricating and installing frameworks, and ensuring quality finishes on a variety of construction tasks.
Candidates must be comfortable working at different elevations, underground, or ground level, depending on the specific job requirements. This is a safety-critical role that requires compliance with all OSHA regulations and client-specific safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study and interpret blueprints, structural plans, and sketches
- Prepare accurate layouts, including grades and lines
- Shape and cut materials to exact measurements
- Assemble, fasten, and install framework or partitions
- Fabricate and install concrete forms
- Work across diverse settings, including elevated, ground level, and below ground
- Ensure high-quality concrete placement and finishing
- Maintain and use required carpenter tools
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure successful project completion
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and work protocols
Job Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Valid TWIC card required
- Ability to pass hair follicle drug test and background check
- Authorization in the DISA Consortium
- In-depth knowledge of concrete finishing and placement techniques
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and layout preparation
- Ability to fabricate and install concrete forms and framework
- NCCER Certification preferred
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Must be comfortable working in various environments, including elevated and underground locations
- Possess own carpenter tools
